Illinois State University Hockey Welcomes Brock Brandenburg

Illinois State Redbirds welcome Brock Brandenburg to the family! Brandenburg, a 5′-7″ 143 lb. forward is a Decatur, IL native. He joins the Redbirds after a successful season with the U18 Bloomington Thunder in the Premier Select division.

Brandenburg chose ISU because its close to his hometown, has a competitive business program, and has an outstanding hockey program. He intends to be a business administration major. His favorite coach was his father and Coach Chris Prewitt, his father helped shape him into the player he is today while Coach Prewitt has pushed him to his limit for the past two seasons. Brandenburg’s biggest supporter is his parents. “They have always got me to games and made countless sacrifices for me to play the game I love,” Brandenburg states. Brandenburg’s favorite hockey memory was having a 4 goal game in a state game his bantam year.

Brandenburg joins a pipeline of hometown players to continue their hockey careers at the collegiate level like Brendan Donovan (D1), Sean Meyer (D1), Andrew Meyer (D2), Dalton Clarke (D2), and Brennan Mitchell (D3).
