Transfer Alert! Michael Garcia Transfers to ISU Joins brother, Matt

Illinois State Redbirds welcome Michael Garcia to the family! Garcia, a 5′-11″ 150 lb. defender is a Homer Glen, IL native. He joins the Redbirds after a successful season with the Iowa State D3 Cyclones.

Garcia chose ISU because he is closer to home and wanted a chance to play with my brother again. He intends to be a finance major. His favorite coach was his father, “He thought me how to skate and play the game” Garcia states. Michael’s biggest supporter is his parents. “They have always pushed me to be the best hockey player I could be,” Garcia states. Garcia’s favorite hockey memory was going to nationals, it brings everyone so much closer and it’s a great time with good hockey.

“Michael is a great player who saw a lot of success in Iowa State last year! We are excited to see that success continue to grow at Illinois State for years to come!” – Coach Chris Prewitt

We cannot wait to see the Garcia brothers suit up in the red and white this upcoming season!
